Thankful

As I have no desire to write tonight I shall simply list off a few thankfuls..... sounds like a good idea to end the day on a positive...
1) God's mercy is never failing
2) Brenna's prayers that encourage me
3) A truly wonderful husband who just happens to be my best friend and helps me so much on this journey

So a good friend of mine and fellow blogger, Tim Pippus, will once in awhile give himself a 30 blogs in 30 days challenge. I always enjoy those months and I've been inspired to take on the challenge for myself as I really do want to get back in the habit of writing in a journal and recording important moments. I want to add a component to my challenge though... I want to make a point of sharing something that spoke to me in my quiet time, just keeping a regular habit of quite time will be the real challenge honestly! I find myself quite thirsty for the words of my Saviour and rather than keep it to myself I want to add it to my blog. January Recap

So the first month of 2015 has pretty much come and gone. It was a good month I'd say. It passed quickly enough. Some of the highlights include the insanely mild temperatures! While we are usually in a deep freeze this time of year it was not uncommon for my girls to run to school in just their hoodies (sweatshirts for my non-SK friends) and forget mittens and toques (or winter hats-- again for you non-SK folk.) I don't know that I would call my surgery a highlight but I am thankful it went so well, even if I do look like I have two belly buttons now and certain... ummm 'foundation garments' are no longer comfortable to wear but I feel better and have made some significant diet changes that have resulted in me feeling so healthy and losing all the weight I had put on in the past year so good comes out of bad... or something like that. The girls have finished off semester 1 of their grade 12,11 and 9 school years. All did well and maintained great averages, so very...

Home

The word Home brings so many images to mind, memories, smells, stories. I think it is that way for all of us. Everything we do is about home when you really think about it. We work so we can come home and enjoy our families. We travel but long for home. We raise our kids and send them off and wait for the holidays so they can come HOME. We write songs and stories and create art all about home. Home seems to be at the centre of everything. I think God created us that way for a reason... so we would long for home... for our place with Him. I know not every one believes in a literal heaven and hell and whatever I'm not here to debate that but what I know is that we all long for home all the time we are away from it. I have friends who are waiting so impatiently to bring their baby HOME from the hospital and I rejoice with them that he is finally healthy and strong and ready to take his place in the world.
