1. List 20 random facts about yourself.


1.) I am a month and a day away from being 38
2.) I love a good thunderstorm EVEN if it does give me a wretched headache
3.) I am resigning from a board that I have been on for somewhere around 10 years
4.) My passion is sharing Christ with kids at bible camp
5.) My husband and I are will soon celebrate 18 years of marriage and we are more in love than ever.
6.) My girls are 12, 14 and 16 now and I can't even express how much I love them.
7.) My pride in my family is beyond words. Each one in it is so amazing
8.) I have 2 dogs, 1 cat and more fish than I can count but have 4 tanks of various sizes. I really want a bird as well but I doubt that will happen.
9.) I love to sleep
10.) I love to be awake and present in life
11.) I have a love/hate relationship with church. As long as I rememeber that God and his Church are not the same I do ok. People fail, that's ok, God loves us enough to cover those mistakes with grace
12.) I only really love a good strong black tea... no herbal stuff for me thank you ;)
13.) There is a lot of long hair in my house. All 4 females have super long hair... combine that with the shedding dog and our swiffer and drains cannot keep up!
14.) I babysit 5 days a week
15.) I love hanging out with my mom and my daughters
16.) I love to read and never have enough time for it
17.) I really want to have a beautiful yard... old church parking lot is darn hard to work with!
18.) I don't really like going to deep into my thoughts on lists like this!
19.) I can't wait until school is out and our mornings a slower pace!
20.) Oh wait! This summer is so busy there won't be many mornings at home! Oh well I can't wait for the adventure of SUMMER 2012!!

So the first month of 2015 has pretty much come and gone. It was a good month I'd say. It passed quickly enough. Some of the highlights include the insanely mild temperatures! While we are usually in a deep freeze this time of year it was not uncommon for my girls to run to school in just their hoodies (sweatshirts for my non-SK friends) and forget mittens and toques (or winter hats-- again for you non-SK folk.) I don't know that I would call my surgery a highlight but I am thankful it went so well, even if I do look like I have two belly buttons now and certain... ummm 'foundation garments' are no longer comfortable to wear but I feel better and have made some significant diet changes that have resulted in me feeling so healthy and losing all the weight I had put on in the past year so good comes out of bad... or something like that. 30 Blogs in 30 Days with a twist

So a good friend of mine and fellow blogger, Tim Pippus, will once in awhile give himself a 30 blogs in 30 days challenge. I always enjoy those months and I've been inspired to take on the challenge for myself as I really do want to get back in the habit of writing in a journal and recording important moments. I want to add a component to my challenge though... I want to make a point of sharing something that spoke to me in my quiet time, just keeping a regular habit of quite time will be the real challenge honestly! I find myself quite thirsty for the words of my Saviour and rather than keep it to myself I want to add it to my blog. I suspect that verses will lead into stories about the days happenings or memories that want to be shared. As September is always a difficult month of readjusting to schedules and usually times of change and stress, it is often an anxiety inducing month for me. Post does it it even matter anymore... Hair Cut and Job Interview

So today was a big day. I got my hair cut... It could have been a bigger deal but I opted to keep the same style that I've had forever and just really shorten it up. Next time I'll do something crazy and express my mid life crisis in a hair cut ;) I had a job interview that I am fairly certain I bombed but I'm strangely ok with that. While it is a really great and interesting job, it may be more that I can handle right now. I might actually need a 'Walmart kind of job' to start this chapter of my life until I figure out what it really is that I want to do in life. Silly mid life crisis stuff, eh? I baked cookies for Brenna to take to school tomorrow and find myself wishing, not for the first time, that I could make a living baking and spreading love with cookies.
